Crop Health Assistant Manager Needed

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Crop Health Assistant Manager plays a critical role in the
development and implementation of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
program. The IPM program involves the examination and evaluation of all
aspects of a plants health, including but not limited to: the effects of
various growing media (soils), plant diseases (viral, bacterial,
fungal), insect infestation and chemical applications. The purpose of
this program is to prevent or control crop losses that would
ultimately create a severe economic burden on the Company.

The Crop Help Assistant Manager is responsible for providing consistent
and reliable consultation services to the Range Managers and Growers by
supplying information based on data collection and analysis and
presenting those findings and the most recent eductational information
available in an understandable and useful format. This position will
also make recommendations for action to be taken or develop progams
designed to keep these hazards in check.

REQUIREMENTS:

4 Year degree in Horticulture or related field with a concentration in
entomology and/or plant pathology plus one year of related experience or
comparable experience. Self-motivated with excellent communication and
organizational skills. Microsoft Office skills . Valid drivers license
and clean driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.) Consistently and accurately monitoring and reporting the active
pest/disease incident rate and general crop health, and recommending
environmental and chemical (fertilizers, growth regulators, fungicides
and pesticides) controls;

2.) Increase the knowledge and awareness of pest, diseases and controls
through educational training programs for all employees involved in
production;

3.) Create reports, graphs and charts, and a newsletter to convey
relevant information in a meaningful fashion to be shared among and
between all Range Managers and Growers; and

4.)Collect, develop and provide informaton targeted for the prevention
of future pest/disease problems based on crop health histories.
