ficus monique

Hi,

I have a 12" ficus monique that went through a severe period of leaf
drop. Things are looking better now, but there are a number of branches
that dropped all their leaves and have had no new growth now for
months. My questions is, can I safely cut these branches off or should
I just leave well enough alone? Any input is appreciated.
