Growing Ferns from Spores ?

Hi !

 I am trying to grow some ferns from spores. I saw the spores
something like 4-5 months ago.

The prothallies have developed great - I just wonder, when the
sporophyts will be ready to grow.

I thought it won't take longer than some weeks, because I was told the
prothallies will die within that time.

Hence, I wonder how long it takes for the archegonia to be fertiles.

(By the way, sorry for my bad english, I'm german)
