Non-toxic air cleaning houseplants?

There are ways to keep cats out of the houseplants. A little cayenne
in the potting soil discourages digging and toileting behavior. Most
cats find bitter apple or citrus unappetizing, so spritzing plants
with them discourages nibbling. You can buy bitter apple spray for
just this purpose. A dilute solution of orange oil cleaner will also
do the trick. You can provide "kitty greens" (sprouting grass)
elsewhere for kitty to eat.
