US-CA-Irvine: Solutions Design Architect - Mixed Signal
Position: Solutions Design Architect - Mixed Signal
Location: Irvine CA
Top-level architecture for high-performance analog & DSP based modems
targeting high data rate communications over a variety of media,
including copper wire. Ideal candidate will have had design exposure
to both Analog and DSP.
Responsibilities will include:
Conceptual design, architectural partitioning between analog and
digital signal processing, and interface definition between major
blocks (e.g., AFE, DSP, MAC, firmware, and external components)
Maintaining the allocation of product-level specifications to the
individual design elements, including power, cost, and performance
Reference Design definition.
KEY ATTRIBUTES - 10+ YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IN THE DESIGN AND
DEVELOPMENT OF MIXED-SIGNAL COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS,INCLUDING
EXPERIENCE WITH CMOS MIXED SIGNAL INTEGRATED CIRCUITS FOR THE
TELECOMMUNICATIONS/DATA COMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY.
Relevant prior background includes the development of DSL modems,
Cable modems, Ethernet transceivers, digital wireless radios,
satellite modems or hard-disc drive read channel electronics.
The candidate must posses a MSEE (PhD preferred) and at least ten
years of relevant experience in the design and development of
mixed-signal communications systems, including experience with CMOS
mixed signal integrated circuits for the telecommunications / data
communications industry. Direct experience with DSP based systems and
algorithms, and mixed signal circuit design is a strong preference.
