Dear Colleagues,

Thanks to IPPN support, we are organizing a workshop focusing on =91Afforda=
ble Phenotyping=92. For information, have a look at the IPPN website for th=
is event: http://www.plant-phenotyping.org/IPPN_Affordable_Phenotyping_Work=
shop_May-2017.

(The short introductory summary is copied here below.)

IPPN Affordable Phenotyping Workshop
=91One of the current problems in plant phenotyping is the high entry level=
and maintenance expenses of new sensors and infrastructures. This prevents=
many research organizations from implementing urgently needed approaches d=
ue to lack of investment budget and technical personnel. Therefore, afforda=
ble phenotyping concepts and methods need to be disseminated to a wider pla=
nt science and breeding community by identifying demands, increasing the aw=
areness and collecting and sharing available knowledge on lean solutions. T=
his workshop is primarily intended for experimental biologists, who are loo=
king for alternative low-cost approaches in different fields of plant pheno=
typing. The workshop will include lectures, demonstrations, hands-on and di=
scussions on different topics like smartphone applications and programming,=
structural imaging, multispectral imaging and field phenotyping methods fo=
r roots and shoots=92.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Appreciatively,

Carol
