Question about PMSF and esterase activity

Does anyone know if phenylmethylsulfonyl floride (PMSF) inhibits
esterase  activity?  I have been told that the latest issue of SCIENCE
contains an article that reports residual esterase activity in chymo-
trypsin, but haven't seen it yet. References concerning PMSF and
esterase activity would be greatly appreciated.
