Sub-micron tool applications needed

I am a Biomedical Engineer with an interest in molecular
biology techniques.  I am in need of some feedback about
some possible applications of some sub-micron sized tools
that I think could be utilized for mechanical separation 
by micromanipulation.  I have micrographs of some of these
tools that I can send via email if anyone is interested
in viewing them and giving me some suggestions.
