The silver grain theory is crap.  Consult a P-Chem book and you find that
the time scale of the Ag transition is in the order of 10e-11 sec.  this
means that more than enough transitions will occur to allow the emulsion
to fix the silver.
Changing the temperature to -70 will not significantly alter the liftime
of the excited silver particle.


IT IS THE SCREEN IN THE DARK BOX THAT HAS THE TEMPERATURE REQUIREMENTS.
