The best way could be the electroelution of the band in a dialysis tube. 
The passive diffusion is sometimes used in vivo, which is the injection 
of the (deep-frozen grinded gel slice)-suspension itself, but it is quite 
 difficult in mice and is most often used in bigger animals like rabbits.
However, this is the way to make large surface of the gel slice if you 
decide in behalf of in vitro passive diffusion.
