I would appreciate any information on why transpeptidase from Streptomyces R61 seems to be frequently used in studies of its binding site and complex with penicillin. As penicillin is frequently used against staphylococcus, why isn't transpeptidase from this organism used? How different would the transpeptidase from staph.aureus and streptomyces be? Lisa
