TWO POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS to be a key part of an exciting
proteomics project using new analytical high-throughput
tools for studying protein dynamics in plants. The
objectives of this research are: 1) use and develop
high-throughput tools, capable of analytically measuring
thousands of proteins in hours, that will identify wheat
proteins that change in abundance during pest/pathogen
attack and 2) characterize these proteins utilizing a
combination of chemistry and molecular biology to determine
their role in plant defense. This information will then be
used to increase resistance to plant pathogens and insect
pests. The two positions are for: A) person with a degree
in biochemistry or related field and knowledge of mass
spectrometry would be a plus; B) person with a degree in
chemistry or related field with a significant background in
mass spectrometry. The individuals selected for these
positions will work as a team and will work with members of
the Purdue Mass Spectrometry Facility that is extremely well
equipped for all MS methods. These are Purdue University
appointments at $26,000 per year with benefits. Purdue
University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity
Employer. Please send your CV and list of references
