Protozoal lysosomes

Can anyone tell me what the evolutionary origins of lysosomes are in
anaerobic ciliates??

Also, if a digestive enzyme were to have a neutral pH optimum, does this
mean it is likely to function outside of the digestive vacuole??  In which
case, would it be targted to ingested bacteria straight from the ER. Any
help appreciated!!
