POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT IN MOLECULAR ECOLOGY

A NERC-funded Postdoctoral Research Assistant post is available to
investigate how genetic diversity among marine photosynthetic
prokaryotes of the genera Synechococcus and Prochlorococcus is
correlated with environmental adaptation.    

The project will have a strong fieldwork component in the Red Sea at
the Gulf of Eilat, Israel, in collaboration with Dr. A. Post at the H.
Steiniz Marine Biology Institute.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. and experience in molecular biology.   
They should be highly motivated and have a particular interest in
applying molecular and biochemical techniques to the biological
oceanography of ecologically important microorganisms.

The post is available immediately for three years at a salary on the
RAIA scale.
