The 13th Biannual meeting of the International Society for
Evolutionary Protistology
( will be held in the
picturesque 13th century city of Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, on
July 31 - August 4, 2000.   Registration, housing, and general meeting
information can be found at the ISEP XIII website

In addition to submitted contributions, ISEP XIII will sponsor a
special symposium: "Eukaryote Origins: Energy Metabolism and
Organelles."   Speakers include Thomas Cavalier-Smith, Bill Martin,
David Moreira, Tibor Vellai, and Martin Embley.  There will also be a
plenary lecture by Paul Englund, "The replication of kinetoplast DNA
in trypanosomes."  

All participants are invited to submit manuscripts for publication in
a special issue of the International Journal of Systematic and
Evolutionary Microbiology
