 STUDENT OR PROFESSIONAL POSITION AVAILABLE 
        We currently have NIH funds available to either fully support a
 doctoral student or to partially support a technician or a postdoctoral
 fellow.  We are working towards understanding the enzymology of eggshell
 formation in S. mansoni in order to develop strategies to prevent or
 eliminate schistosomiasis. The specific projects we are working on are
 the cloning and characterization of phenol oxidases from these
 parasites.  Our approach includes molecular (northern, Southern, western
 blotting techniques) and biochemical and immunological approaches
 (immunohistochemical staining, protein purification).  Interested
