schisto question

Hello parasitologists,
A possibly ignorant question from someone who knows next to nothing about
schistosomiasis (excuse me for using this forum):
What are the consequences from a human injesting schistosome eggs or larvae
(miracidae?), or for that matter, actual flukes (cercaria?)? Can someone
contract schisto. from drinking water contaminated with any of the above?
After having contracted it and while researching schisto. I was unable to
find any mention of this.
