Staden on Linux

Hello

I am looking for people who have experience with running the Linux version
of the Staden package. specific questions are
- what are the minimal hardware requirements?
- any specific comments/problems with installation, maintenance, upgrading?
- does one need a local copy of the various DNA/prot databases?
