Hi Andrei,

Cycloheximide inhibits the peptidyl transferase activity of the 60S
ribosomal subunit, thus blocking the elongation step of protein synthesis.
It is specific for eukaryotic ribosomes--does not affect prokaryotic,
mitochondrial and chloroplast ribosomes.

For a reference see L.Stryer's "Biochemistry" 2nd. ed.(1981) p.662, or
several other molecular, cellular or biochemical texts.
