I am also interested in such references.  Since I never saw any other
answer, I will mention a few books you may already have (not so recent).
The Amphibian Visual System, ed. Fite, Academic Press, NY, 1976.  
  Lucidly reviews many elegent studies by Himstedt in the
  1960s that were originally published in German. 

Visual Behavior in Salamanders, ed. Gerhard Roth. Springer-Verlag 1987.
  Contains much of the information in the previous reference and more.

The Amphibian Visual System ed. Ingle, Goodale, Mansfield. MIT Press 1982.
  Specifically Chapter 2 Prey Selection in Salamanders,  by Himstedt 

"Neural Mechanisms of Prey Recognition: An example in amphibians" by Gerhard
Roth, in Predator-Prey Relationships, ed. Feder and Lauder. U. Chicago
Press 1986.  
  An interesting discussion that bridges from neuroethology to ecology.
