Medical studies and experience:
-October 1972 to October 1978 five years of medical studies at the Medicine
faculty of Tunis
-October 1978 to October 1980 two years of intership: nuclear medicine,
orthopedic surgery, internal medicine and nephrology, social medicine
-October 1981 to october 1982: military service in the tunisian army as a
general practitionner
-April 1983 I became a medical doctor MD
-August 1983 to august 1986 three years work as a GP in the Regional
hospital of Nasrallah in Tunisia
Research Studies and experience
-September 1986 I moved to France to begin a 4 years training program in the
INSERM Unite 268 directed by Pr Claude Jasmin at the Paul Brousse hospital
in Villejuif France, this includes two years of studies in two universities:
Paris Sud XIand Paris VII
-October 1991 I entered a PhD program in the Paris XI university . I worked
with Pr Bruno Azzarone on the expression of the IL-2 receptor by non
hematopoietic cells : human fibroblasts and human melanoma cells and its
implications on IL-2 immunotherapy of human cancers.
-January 1994 I have obtained my PhD with honors
-March 1994 to 1998 postdoctoral fellowship with Dr TA Waldmann in the
Metabolism Branch NCI, NIH. I worked on two projects:the development of a
new model for the induction of the IL-2 receptor alpha chain by IL-2 and
IL-15, the production of a monoclonal antibody against the human IL-2
receptor gamma chain
-April 1998 to february 2001 I worked with Pr CG Begley in the Bone
MarrowResearch Laboratories ( an extension of the WEHI ) on the knoch out
project of a new partner of the transcription factor SCL. The KO was
embryonic
lethal.
-May 2002 to December 31, 2004 Post doc in the Microbiology and
ImmunologyDepartment of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the
Bronx, NY. with Dr Jurgen Brojatsch.
I worked on cell killing by anthrax toxin
-Feb 2005 until now I am a Post doc in Columbia University Molecular
Medicine Dept. My supervisor is Dr Alessandra Pernis. I am working on IBP
Knock out
My technical expertise covers many areas of molecular biology and
biochemistry:the basics as:
Southern and Norhtern blots
PCR
Screening of genomic and cDNA libraries
Screning of BAC libraries
Mapping of genomic clones
KO and KI constructs
Western blot, Elisa
And also cellular biology including monoclonal antibody technology
Cell mutagenesis by ICR 191
FACS Analysis
CFSE Technique
Flow Jo Analysis
