topic of newsgroup

Much discussion of late of whether men belong in this group....
My opinion is that they do, the "good" guys, who are trying to help fix the 
problems, and the "bad" guys, who are the problem--maybe we can sort them out. 
We are ALL scientists.  We work together, we live together, we all have a 
stake in this.  And it is a basic tenet of our profession that we are 
unafraid to hear  other opinions.  After all, if WE cannot carry out 
reasonable debate, and discuss the issues with due regard for both sides , as 
well as minimal courtesy, then what hope for our society?

Closed group suggests closed minds.
