                     CORRECTED ANNOUNCEMENT

Plant Genome III (PG-III)

Building on the successes of PG-I and PG-II, we are pleased to
announce the Plant Genome III meeting will be held on
January 15-19, 1995 at the Town & Country hotel in San Diego, CA.

PG-II attracted over 550 participants from some 22 countries who
presented over 240 poster talks.

We have chosen this time and location due to the low airfares
available every year after the Xmas holiday and the very
affordable prices at this hotel (conference room rates start at
$70 and will include continental breakfast every morning).

The meeting session topics for PG-III will be:

1. Chromsome Structure
2. cDNA's
3. Transfer and Transformation of Agriculturally Important Genes
4. Instrumentation/Technology
5. Comparative Genetic Mapping
6. QTL's/Metabolic Pathways

In addition to the formal sessions and posters during the week,
on Sunday afternoon there will be a Computer Workshop on Genome
Information Tools and Resources. The workshop will provide a
view of some of the existing software used to maintain and
analyze genomic information. The talks at this workshop are
designed to give the average plant molecular biologist an idea of
what is available today and what they can do today.

MEETING SCHEDULE:

4 1/2 days, January 15-19, 1995 from Sunday afternoon to Thursday
evening.

There will be 6 formal sessions, with 3-4 speakers each,
including a one hour plenary lecture every morning. Each of the
other lectures will be 30 minutes (25 + 5 minutes for questions).

In addition there will be two afternoons and one evening
devoted to crop species workshops.

All submitted or invited poster talks will be one page long,
using forms provided by the PG-III conference organizer, Scherago
International. The PG-III abstracts will be available online
prior (and after) to the meeting on the NAL computer. (We are
currently working on putting the abstracts from both PG-I and PG-
II online also.)
