1995 Spring Semester internship at the Milwaukee County Zoo

32 hours/week; 12 weeks (m-f flexible)

This intern will play an integral role in developing the ED-OPS science
curriculum.  The goal of the ED-OPS project is to stimulate an interest in
science and promote scientific literacy for female and/or minority students in
grades 3-8.  

The intern will gain experience in curriculum development, teaching, exhibit
design (interactive, educational), and project evaluation.

The intern will work as member of the ED-OPS development team.  This team is
composed of Zoological Society Staff, teachers, scientists and community

1.  Animal information research
2.  Development of hands-on science curriculum
3.  Assisting in evaluatin and assessment
4.  Assisting in developing interactive exhibits

1.  Current College Student
2.  Education and/or science background
3.  Experience with school age children
4.  Knowledge or interest in environmental education desirable
