hello!

[P. Ford]

I have noticed that if I sign posts "P.  Ford" people assume I am a man and
reply courteously.  In one group, I posted things signed "Paula Ford" and
was rudely flamed for a _typo_ (I was a newbie and was having editor
trouble).  One guy called me "hon." I usually stick with "P.  Ford" unless I
am posting in a group where I am a regular.  P. ;-)
