Other Newsgroups

[Vanessa Bailey]

I subscribed to this newsgroup about a month ago, and have really enjoyed 
it.  My field however, is a little different from the fields represented 
by most posters.  I am currently doing my Ph.D in Soil Biology and 
Biochemistry (primarily microbiology).  More specifically, I work in 
bioremediation.  I would be very interested if someone knows of any 
newsgroups which relate to my studies.  I'm also interested in hearing 
from women in similar fields.  
I would like to let people know that women are moving into the field 
of science fairly quickly.  In our department, approx. 62% of the grad 
students are female, with a wide range of ages, although most are of my age group 
(I'm 22).
