I have participated in a Women in Science forum for two years now at a
private college in our city (Rhodes). We have several references on gender
in science issues also the issue of March 1992 Science April 1993 and Nov
1993 were all devoted to women in science issues. A good his6torical text
is Hypatia's Heritage by Margaret Alie, Beacon Press 1986. This covers
several important contributions made by women to the advancement of
