The Department of Biology at the University of Minnesota-Duluth has an=20
opening for a plant physiologist. The Department particularly encourages=

the candidacy of people with research and teaching experience in=20
multicultural, multi-racial settings. The position announcement is as=20
follows:
PLANT PHYSIOLOGIST
The Department of Biology at the University of Minnesota-Duluth =E9nvites=
=20
applications for a tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR position in plant=20
physiology beginning September 1, 1996. The position requires a Ph.D.=20
(by 9/1/96) and prior teaching experience; postdoctoral research=20
experience is desirable. Responsibilities will include: teach plant=20
physiology, general biology, and advanced specialty topics; actively=20
participate in graduate education (emphasis at M.S. level); establish a=20
strong, externally funded research program in plant physiology; and=20
advise students. Research focus is open and collaborative efforts will=20
be encouraged. Model systems may include vascular plants, algae, fungi,=20
or bryophytes. The successful applicant should have demonstrted=20
competence with molecular approaches. Send curriculum vitae, copies of=20
undergraduate and graduate transcripts, a statement of teaching/research=20
interests and goals, up to three reprints, and three letters of=20
