I want to be a professor. Am I crazy?

It's me again - just want to say a big collective thank you to the dozen 
or so people who responded via EMail and here.  To a one the replies were 
thoughtful and helpful.  I have already got some of the books you 
recommended out of the library.  And I'm going to speak with a professor 
about working in her lab.
