1.	Title:  Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment in
Organismal Biology at the level of Assistant Professor.  The position
will commence 1 July 1996 subject to budgetary approval.

2.	Qualifications:  Ph.D. required by the appointment date. 
Post-doctoral experience, teaching experience, and evidence of ability to
develop an externally funded research program will be assets.  Preference
will be given to applicants who study interspecies interactions,
particularly interactions involving invertebrates, plants, or fungi, and
whose research can include a regional (prairies or mountains) focus.  Use
of quantitative or molecular techniques and systems or process oriented
research (e.g. population biology, phylogeny) will be assets.

3.	Responsibilities:  The appointee will teach in the lower- and
upper-level undergraduate program, including courses in organismal
diversity, symbiosis, and plant or animal ecology, and to develop a
strong research program.  Opportunities for collaborative research with
Agriculture Canada and for graduate student supervision exist.

4.	Salary (1995-96):  Assistant Professor  $37,350 minimum per annum.
