I also do not like the use of the term "guys" to refer to a group that
contains women. However, since there is not another commonly used word
that is more inclusive, I find myself using the term "guys" sometimes
(although it always makes me uncomfortable after I've said it). I also
sometimes say "you all" (I'm not from the South, either, but the term
"y'all" appeals to me because it's gender neutral and friendly). What
other terms are good for groups of people that are partly or all women?
"gals" and "ladies" don't appeal to me either - they have sexist
connotations in my opinion.
