Cindy, the ONLY way to get rid of this sh*t is to moderate the list.  I 
belong to 3 newsgroups, one of which finally opted for this.  HOWEVER, 
it requires someone to volunteer their time, EVERYDAY, to screen the 
mailings and it delays all posts by a day.  So...., it really depends on 
how much you're willing to sacrifice in order to stop hitting the delete 
key.
