maternity leave-paid or not?

At Bates- Maternity leave is a short term medical disability leave.  The

Yes it is paid. We have no specific policy for maternity leave.
I was paid by the NIH on my postdoc grant and by my faculty advisor as a grad
student for my two leaves.

Six weeks is a very reasonable request- the NIH only pays for four on the NRSA
awards...
