women in science and politics in Europe

Well, I don't think there is a correlation between the numbers of women in science 
and in the higher political ranks in various countries. I can only speak for Physics, 
but in France there is a relatively high number of women in physics, also at the 
professor level, even though the numbers in politics are so low, while in Sweden 
there are few women in physics and particularly at the professor level, but (as I 
just learned) quite a few in politics. In Germany (where I live), both numbers are 
low. But we do have a female physicist as head of the Christian Democratic Party, 
one of the two "big" parties in this country - whatever that may tell us... 

Sorry I can't provide actual numbers, maybe someone else can.
