Associate Professorship/Curatorship at the Department of Entomology
A position for a tenured systematic entomologist to carry out research on
the systematics, phylogeny, morphology, and zoogeography of terrestrial
Arthropoda is open to appointment as soon as possible.
Job description and qualification requirements:
Curation/administration of a major section the Zoological Museum's insect
collection, including field work, preferably both inside and outside
Denmark, aiming at collection development.
Participation through research, administration, and teaching in national
and international programmes in which the museum is involved, including
initiation and development of such programmes.
Supervision of cand. scient. (Master's level) and ph.d. students;
participation in courses in systematic entomology and phylogenetic theory.
Participation in institutional administration.
Global or large-scale systematic revisions including phylogenetic analyses.
Documented competence in modern systematic and phylogenetic methodology.
Experience in collection management.
Research background fitting departmental foci in either (a) high-rank
phylogeny of arthropods, (b) interactions between phylogenetic systematics
and biological/ecological information (ecological phylogenetics), (c)
diversity of terrestrial arthropods, or (d) combining molecular and
morphological data in phylogenetic analysis.
Demonstrable extensive field experience.
Taxonomic expertise in Diptera or Coleoptera.
According to the Ministerial Circular on Job Structure appointment to the
position as associate professor requires a documented scientific production
at an international level. Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent)
degree, and postdoctoral-level research experience.
Terms of appointment and payment according to the agreement between the
Ministry of Finance and AC (The Danish Confederation of Professional
Associations) on Academics in the State. In addition to the salary based on
seniority the successful applicant will receive an annual pensionable
supplement of DKK 70,447.42.
If the applicant for the position has not acquired sufficient curation or
teaching experience through previous employments, appointment will be made
on probation for up to 11/2 years.

A complete list of publications with indication of which papers the
applicant considers particularly relevant (max. 10).
3 copies of each of the selected papers considered particularly relevant
together with (in case of multiauthored papers) a statement of which part
of the work the applicant is responsible for.

It should be noted that:
