We are hiring a GS-9/11 Museum Curator here at the Smokies, and need you to
spread the word to qualified folks who may be interested in applying. This
person will have primary responsibility for the full range of natural
resources specimens in the Parks' collection, and will work with a wide
array of researchers and museum curators throughout the U.S./Canada and
around the world. With the All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory adding to those
specimens that will be accessioned, we need someone who has long-standing
interest in all aspects of nature; can develop taxonomic skill
in all groups and will hopefully become a regional authority in some
groups. They MUST have strong "people skills" in order to be successful in
a team environment.

This position is being advertized nation-wide, to be recruited from all
sources, but moving expenses will only be covered for current federal
employees. Duty station will be at Gatlinburg TN, but the Park's half
million acres lie equally in NC and TN. This summer the Park plans
to let a contract to construct a new, 15,000 sq. ft. science center. A
new curatorial facility is a focus of the facility. Many more details
are available on-line at <www.usajobs.opm.gov> The position # is
GRSM03DE08. Closing date (applications must be postmarked by) May 27,
2003.

Please help us by forwarding this message to individuals, organizations,
agencies that might be interested.

Thanks !!
