    Postdoctoral Position in Macromolecular Crystallography

A position as Postdoctoral Fellow at Laboratory of Macromolecular

Crystallography, Institute of Molecular and Structural Biology,

University of Aarhus will be available from August 1, 1998.



Applicants must have a basic education within one or several of the

subjects Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as well as

documented research experience at an international level within

crystallographic studies of the interaction between proteins and between

protein and nucleic acid. It will be an advantage if the applicant has

research experience within structural studies of protein biosynthesis or

within related subjects.



It is expected that the person employed will participate in a close

scientific cooperation with the other members of the laboratory,

especially on the use of crystallography in the elucidation of structure

and function of proteins and nucleic acids in protein biosynthesis. A

succesful applicant will be accommodated in existing laboratory space and

will be given access to all of the equipment of the laboratory.



The succesful applicant will have to participate in the teaching of

graduate and Ph.D. students in the use of computers in biology, in

subjects of macromolecular structure and function, and in theoretical and

practical aspects of X-ray crystallography.
