POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN X-RAY CRYSTALLOGRAPHY

A postdoctoral fellowship is available immediately in the
Department of Biochemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Structure-function studies in the laboratory focus on
understanding protein-lipid interactions, lipid transport, and the regulation
of biologically active lipids including LPS. Current projects include
structural studies of the human bactericidal/permeability-increasing
protein (BPI) [Science 276, 1861 (1997)] with LPS analogs.

A strong background in protein crystallography or biophysics is
desired. Candidates with training in molecular biology and protein
purification and characterization with an interest in
structural biology are also encouraged to apply. X-ray facilities
include a 300 mm MAR detector with Xstream cryosystem.
Columbia is a dynamic university community only 1.5 hrs. by car from St. Louis.
Housing and other living expenses are quite reasonable, making it
especially attractive for families.

Please send cv, summary of research experience and interests, and
three letters of reference to:
