POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

Crystal structure analysis of protein-ligand complexes

 A post-doctoral fellowship is available to work on the crystal structure
analysis of protein of pharmacological interest complexed with ligands using
X-ray crystallography. The position is funded for 1 year starting 1st may
1999. It would be particularly suitable for anyone having experience in
macromolecular X-ray crystallography and wishing to gain expertise in
structure based drug design within a leading pharmaceutical company.
 The candidate will join an experienced multidisciplinary team of scientists
dedicated to Computer-Assisted Drug Design, Structural Biology and Medicinal
Chemistry. The position involves extensive opportunities for collaboration
with different scientists in preclinical discovery, thus strong
interpersonal skills are essential.


 The crystallographic group is equipped to international standards with
crystallisation robots, 2 rotating anode X-ray generators with image plate
detectors and a number of Silicon Graphics workstation.
