A postdoctoral position in protein crystallography is available
immediately at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.
Opportunities will include continuation of very high resolution
structural studies of crystals of the GTPase domain of the bacterial
signal recognition particle, as well as crystallization and structure
determination of new complexes. The lab is at the Chicago campus of
Northwestern, two blocks from Lake Michigan and Michigan Ave, and is
only thirty minutes from the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne. The
department of Molecular Pharmacology and Biological Chemistry includes
several crystallography and structure groups (e.g. Wayne Anderson,
Martin Egli, Brian Shoichet) and provides an excellent environment for
research in macromolecular structure. The applicant should have some
experience in crystallography and should be interested in using high
resolution crystallography to approach the protein-structural questions
studied in the lab. Excellent oral and written communication skills
are essential. Please send a CV and letters of recommendation to: Dr.
