POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY
DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY AND INSTITUTE FOR MOLECULAR BIOSCIENCE,
UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND, BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position in protein
crystallography and analysis of protein-protein interactions, in the group
of Bostjan Kobe at Department of Biochemistry and Institute for Molecular
Bioscience, The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. The study
will entail the structural characterization of proteins involved in signal
transduction, viral infection and nuclear transport processes, with
implications for anti-cancer and anti-viral therapeutics, gene therapy and
biotechnology. Experience in X-ray crystallography, protein purification
and molecular biology is desirable.
Salary will be according to qualifications and experience, currently in the
range of $43,285 to $48,235. The position is available from January 22,
2000 for the period of 3 years.
University of Queensland is one of Australia's top universities and is
situated in a beautiful campus on the Brisbane river. The new Institute for
Molecular Bioscience will be housed in a $105 million research complex
currently under construction. We are expanding our X-ray facilities and
expect to have the best facility in Australia by 2002. Excellent facilities
