Product Marketing Manager-Protein Crystallography
San Diego, CA Job Code: MKT1
This challenging scientific marketing position will be responsible for the
development and execution of a business plan for MSI's Protein
Crystallography product line including CNX and applications for automated
electron density map interpretation and model building. The product manager
will champion the protein crystallography product line both internally and
with customers & industrial/academic collaborators. Specific
responsibilities include interacting with scientific community to gather
and prioritize market requirements, to identify new leading edge technology
to implement in software applications, promoting product sales, attending
and presenting at scientific conferences and managing marketing events such
as seminars. Excellent strategic planning, presentation and writing skills
are required. The successful candidate will have a successful track record
in applying crystallographic methods to solve real-world problems,
preferably in an industrial setting. This position involves significant
travel and provides a unique opportunity to interact closely with some of
the most prominent scientists in industrial, academic and government
laboratories. A Ph.D. in chemistry, or a related discipline is required.
Scientific Applications Support X-ray Crystallography

This scientist will provide scientific support for MSI products in the area
of computational protein X-ray crystallography. S/he will work closely with
leading industry & academic researchers in a consultative post sales
support role. Responsibilities will include on-line and telephone support,
acting as a liaison to product development regarding customer reported
issues, software testing and scientific validation. The ideal candidate
will possess a Ph.D. in chemistry or related field with 0-2 years of
post-doctoral experience, and have experience in MIR/MAD phasing, molecular
replacement phasing and refinement. Proven experience with MSI's suite of
software packages including X-PLOR/CNX would be an asset.
