in the
CRC BIOMOLECULAR STRUCTURE UNIT,
THE INSTITUTE OF CANCER RESEARCH

Applications are invited for the following postions, to work with
Dr. Christine Nunn and Professor Stephen Neidle.
(i) A research studentship will be available in October 1993 to
work on crystallographic studies of DNA structure and recognition,
studying a number of sequences implicated in the transcription
activating action of a major tumour supressor protein. Intending
applicants should have or expect to receive a first or 2(i) honours
degree in biophysics, biochemistry, biological chemistry or a related
discipline. First year research students at the Institute of Cancer
Research will be paid a stipend of 7,875 pounds as from October 1993;
subsidised Institute accomodation is available for all first year
students.
(ii) A three year post-doctoral position will be available from April
1993 to work on structural studies of interactions between calcium-
binding signal transduction proteins, and drugs active against breast
cancer. Experience in protein crystallography is preferred. The starting
salary will be 15,955 pounds plus 2,134 pounds London Allowance, on
the non clinical academic salary scale.
