IMHO, go back and look for a completely different crystal form. In my
experience, crystals that diffract miserably often continue to diffract
miserably no matter how large you grow them. However, it is often the
case that there are other crystal forms that diffract very well. (This
was certainly true of my experiences with CAP in the early '80s.)
