Molecular Dynamics image plate files ?

Hello everybody,

we did some measurements with a Molecular Dynamics image plate at HASYLAB
in Hamburg, and there ist one problem :

We can save the images as "md"-files (a special Molecular Dynamics file
format I think) or do a conversion to tiff (converting the 16 bit information
to 8 bit !!!!). So all we can use at home in Munich is the tiff file with
the lower resolution.

Here the question:

Is there a input modul for the "md"-files for khoros, or any information about
the file format or any clever convertion program may be to 24 bit tiff ??
