PROTEIN CRYSTALLOGRAPHY WORKSHOP IN TURKU, FINLAND

The workshop aims to cover the essentials of protein
crystallography: obtaining crystals, collecting data,
finding heavy-atom derivatives, calculating and interpreting
electron density maps, and refining the initial model.
It will end with some sessions on structure interpretation,
both visual tools and computational approaches. The course
will include lectures and discussions, demonstrations and
hands-on experimental sessions. In the evening, the lecturers
will also give talks about their current research so that
participants get a sense of the types of questions that interest
protein crystallographers nowadays.
