Chris,  Yes, it is worth trying to grow cocrystals.  You say the binding
constant for the ligand is .5 micro molar.  As long as the concentration in
the experiment (I presume hanging drop ) is higher than that,
cocrystallization has as much chance of working as any other crystallization
experiment.  Beware that it is normal for the solubility of the complex to
be different from either molecule by itself.  (ie, you're in squre 1 of the
crystallization experiment.
