Parallel Programming Consultant
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in
Heidelberg is searching for an experienced scientific programmer
to work as a program advisor and trainer ofr the use of several
parallel machines in molecular biology applications. The machines
include a MasPar, a sixteen processor SGI Power Challenge and a
AXP workstation farm coupled by a Gigaswitch. A scientific programming
background with experience in developing or porting code to parallel
architectures using shared memory or message passing is essential. The
successful candidate will act as an advisor to users who are attempting
to port molecular biology codes to parallel machines and will organize
short training courses in parallelization. Fluency in English is
essential. Experience in molecular biology, protein crystallography
image processing or molecular dynamics would be an advantage but not
essential.
This position will be supported for two years by an EU grant however
candidates need not be residents of EU countries. Details can be
