Molecular Structure Corporation has decided that sevice contracts and
warranties on rotating anode generators and turbomolecular pumps will
be voided if people use rebuilt filaments. They claim that rebuilt
filaments cause damage to the system. Does anyone have independent
evidence for damage caused by using rebuilt filaments?
The price for rebuilding a filament is about $25 whereas MSC charges
$267 for a new one.
I would like to know what the crystallographic community thinks
about that.
