POSTDOCS IN STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY
The Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB), is seeking
postdoc fellows with experience in protein/nucleic acid chemistry, crystal
growth, macromolecular crystallography and a familiarity in biocomputing
to join its Department of Biological Structures.
The applicants should be able to participate in or eventually initiate
studies in the fields of endonucleases, methylases, protein-nucleic acid
complexes, peptide transport proteins and protein engineering. Furthermore,
they will have the opportunity to contribute to a further refinement of
novel techniques for macromolecular crystallization which are presently
under development at IMBB. Successful applicants will extensively interact
with molecular biologists, crystallographers and specialists in NMR and
other physicochemical techniques, in the framework of international
collaborative research projects. Apart from joining ongoing research
programmes, the applicants will be given the opportunity to resume or to
develop individual projects. A Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry or a related
field is required or equivalent level of competence.
IMBB is one of Greece's leading research institutes and is located near
Heraklion, at the island of Crete. Postdoctoral fellowships and benefits are
available from IMBB, however interested applicants are also encouraged to
apply for fellowships from international organizations, e.g. EMBO, HFSPO,
EU, ICGEB etc. For further information please contact:
